Yachting New Zealand’s Junior & Youth Committee have developed some ethical guidelines to provide New Zealand’s young sailors with the knowledge to sail with sportsmanship. It is important to promote appropriate behaviour amongst our young sailors and ensure that competition is safe and enjoyable for all.

The Junior and Youth Committee has published these guidelines and created a poster, and recommend that:

• The poster be placed on Yacht Club’s notice boards
• The code be introduced into Clubs Learn to Sail and coaching programmes
• The poster be reprinted and included in the Club handbooks
• The code be incorporated in the club handbooks
• The poster can be printed and available for juniors to take home
